Psalm 3.1. Lord, how many are my foes? How many rise up against me? 2. Many are saying of me, 'God will not deliver him.' It can feel as though we are on our own In a big universe, The world seems against us And it feels as though You too are abandoning us, It's on Your mercy we throw ourselves - Just as David, a few thousand years before - The Christians in that first century - And through all ages. 3. But you are a shield around me, O Lord; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. 4. To the Lord I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. I can throw myself at Your feet I do cry out to You Am honest, and tell you my pain. You are not a God that doesn’t understand - Lifting me high on eagles wings Answering my call, my cry from deep with in. 5. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6. I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. I sleep and wake again Confident that I am in Your will, Confident that You can hold me As the world seems to break up around me. I don't have to be afraid Because I remain in Your love. 7. Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. Deliverance Lord, can only come from You, And You do deliver. You give us the victory; The battle not being in flesh and blood, But in the Spirit. You bless Your people Israel: Those who accept that Jesus Is God Incarnate are Your people. | You are the light of the worldYours is the lamp that shows us the way.1. O Lord, You have searched me and you know me. 2. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O God 5. You hem me in - behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. 6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 19. If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me you blood thirsty men! 20. They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse you name. 21. Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you? 22. I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. 23. Search, me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24. See if there is any offensive way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Those who hate You Those who ignore You Those who explain away the Truth - De-mystify You. Forgive us Father When we listen to Satan And his angels. When we begin to believe the liar. God: My heavenly Father Wrap Your arms around me; Jesus. bury Your Word Deep in my heart; Spirit, Holy Counsellor counsel me. Anything in me that is not of You Tear it out of my heart, Filling the space with Your Truth. My Triune God - I praise You I worship You I lay myself before You. |
